Get a Perfect Smile with Dental Implants in Metairie, LA – Restore Your Confidence Today!

Your teeth are essential to maintaining a healthy diet and a beautiful smile. However, your teeth can wear out over time if you frequently eat sugary foods and do not brush and floss regularly. If you lose a tooth or series of teeth, a great way to restore the lost teeth is with dental implants. Dr. Cerniglia DDS can help by providing a high quality restoration of your missing teeth.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are small, titanium posts that attach the jawbone where missing teeth used to be. These surgically inserted posts act like anchors to support the implant crown, filling the space once occupied by your natural tooth root thus providing necessary support for your dentition. Once the post fuses with the jawbone, a custom crown can be created to attach to the post. Dental implants can replace a single tooth, a group of teeth or an entire arch.

The implant is placed by an experienced Oral Surgeon or Periodontist which Dr. Cerniglia only refers to the best in town. Once integrated to the bone, Dr. Cerniglia will then create a custom fitting crown to replace the missing tooth or teeth.

Not everyone is a candidate for dental implants, so if you are unsure if you are a candidate, Dr. Cerniglia has over 36 years of experience and will recommend the right treatment plan for you.  Dr. Cerniglia incorporates interdisciplinary dentistry, where he uses a team of specialists to give the best possible care. He only uses surgeons with the best track record of successful placement of dental implants for his patients.

Benefits of Dental implants

At the office of Dr. George Cerniglia, we are committed to giving a wide variety of quality care, such as dental implants, in Metairie, La. Dental implants have a proven track record and are the best way to replace a missing tooth.

Better functionality: You can get dental implants to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth or all your teeth. While restorative treatment can repair damaged teeth, implants replace them altogether. This means you can get back to eating the foods you love most!

More durability: Dental implants are highly durable and can last a very long time. Implant technology has significantly advanced over the years, making the procedure one of the most successful solutions to replacing missing teeth when performed by a quality restorative team.

Improved self-confidence: A missing tooth affects not only how you perceive yourself but how others perceive you as well. Implants not only help retain bone from being lost due to missing teeth, but they also restore lost confidence by giving you your smile back again.

Dental Implant Procedure

Dental implants follow a relatively straightforward surgical procedure. Treatment approaches often involve a couple of different phases:

Phase One: Once a tooth is removed and the bone has had time to heal, one of Dr. Cerniglia’s qualified surgeons will insert a titanium post in the jawbone and use special tools to ensure the implant is properly placed and secure. The implant will remain to heal and integrate with the bone for 4-6 months, during which time you may be a candidate for a temporary restoration which Dr. Cerniglia will determine the best restorative method.

Phase Two:  Once the surgeon releases you, confirming the implant is ideal for restoration, Dr. Cerniglia will then use specially designed custom fit components to take impressions so his quality dental technician can create a custom fit, esthetically pleasing porcelain crown to replace the missing tooth. This usually takes about 4 weeks to receive. The entire procedure usually takes between 6-8 months to complete.

Special note: Not everyone is qualified to place dental implants or to restore dental implants. Some offices offer cheaper alternatives by using off market implants systems or off market parts. Dr. Cerniglia only uses the best quality implant systems and uses the same high quality restorative parts and procedures that have a proven track record for dental implant success.
