George P. Cerniglia, D.D.S.
Since graduation from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1986, Dr. Cerniglia has been practicing as a general dentist in Metairie, Louisiana. Dr. Cerniglia started his own dental practice in 1989, and moved to his present location at 3320 Hessmer Ave. in 2016. Dr. Cerniglia prides himself in providing the kind of dentistry he would want for himself and his family. When you enter the practice you will feel as though you belong to a dental family. The office will make you feel at home, while providing a clean, safe and cozy environment. Whether it is the fountain, Tempur-pedic pillows, large screen televisions in each room, Dr. Cerniglia takes great pride in the way he pampers and treats his patients.
Dr. Cerniglia is also the past president of the LSUSD Alumni Association and has been voted one of America’s Top Dentist, nationally, and is has been listed annually as one of the USA Top Dentist’s. This honor is voted by his colleagues based on their view and respect of the dental work they see. Dr. Cerniglia has been voted a member as seen in New Orleans Magazine since it’s inception in 2008.
Dr. Cerniglia is married to his lovely wife, Lisa, of over 36 years and they have four children. Dr. Cerniglia spends his time away from the office tending to his pond, traveling with his family, cycling, and spending time in his yard. Dr. Cerniglia is also a Co-captain of Group 37 with the Men of Manresa.
Dr. Elizabeth Cerniglia
Dr. Elizabeth Cerniglia is a second generation dentist from Metairie, Louisiana. After attending and graduating from Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans, Dr. Elizabeth attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Business Administration. While attending LSU, she was an active member of LSU’s Pre-Dental Society. She worked as a dental assistant prior to entering LSU School of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Elizabeth gained excellent clinical experience and was awarded the 2021 Operative Award for outstanding achievement in Operative Dentistry. She is a current member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Louisiana Dental Association.
In her free time, Dr. Elizabeth enjoys needlepointing, spending time with friends and family, and experiencing new restaurants popping up all over New Orleans.
Continuing Education & State Of The Art Technology
Dr. Cerniglia has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years, but still takes over 100 hours of continuing dental education a year. The State requirement is 21 hours per year. The extra time shows Dr. Cerniglia’s commitment to being the best he can at his profession and for his patients. Dr. Cerniglia also keeps up on the latest in dental technology including Laser Dentistry, Digital radiograph, CEREC same day CAD/CAM crowns and veneers, Advanced Zoom whitening, Kor Deep whitening, Sleep dentistry, and Fresh Breath therapy.
